Our Founders’ Journey
The story of RAM General Contracting and RAM Buildings begins with the early careers of our founders.
Rawelin ‘Rollie’ Radtke started his career in construction working alongside his father, learning the trade from a young age. Gregg Machemehl began his construction career as a high school junior, working summers for a local construction company. After college, both founders continued to build their expertise in construction, design, estimating, sales, and management.
Fun Fact about RAM companies: The corporation name is an acronym of Radtke And Machemehl.
The Founding of RAM Buildings, Inc
In 1998, Rollie and Gregg discussed the possibility of a partnership, combining their experience and industry relationships to create something greater. This led to the founding of RAM Buildings, Inc. in 1999.
Built on over 36 years of combined experience, RAM Buildings became a leading force in the Midwest construction industry, specializing in post-frame and steel-frame construction for equestrian, commercial, agricultural, storage, and residential projects.
The Expansion into General Contracting
As the demand for RAM Buildings’ services grew, so did the need for a more expansive offering. In 2005, RAM General Contracting, Inc. was founded to meet the growing needs of existing clients.
Already serving as the general contractor on many projects, Rollie and Gregg expanded the scope of their work, broadening their client base and managing larger, more complex projects.
Today, RAM General Contracting specializes in high-end equestrian facilities, commercial and industrial buildings, government and pre-engineered metal projects.
